A downloadable Mockup

The main objective of the Mockup Jam was to create up to four screenshots or loop gifs of a fictional game. I took advantage of this opportunity to draft a game with complex narrative ramifications (CC BY-NC-SA licence).

From the list of optional themes there were a few that lit the spark in different ways; "Chilly, cozy, you just get serotinin from these flowers and friends" and "Is this a quirky indie game about emotions?" helped me defining the narrative setting, tone and lore, while an (admitedly free) interpretation of "Gotta collect all the cute stickers" inspired the artstyle.

The seismic activity of Shaketown rose to the point that, sixty four years ago, the last of the families was forced to move out. However, for the last two decades, not a single earthquake has been registered in the -now- ghost town.

In an attempt to bring life back to the town, authorities have come up with a plan: anyone who compromises to be an active citizen of Shaketown, will receive free housing.

Luckily, six curious characters are already interested in jumping into this opportunity and, hopefully, find a place in which they can "stick" around.

The game consists in twelve rounds, each one being a month of the year. Within every round there are two phases: "sticking" and "snooping" .

During the "sticking" phase,  in odd months, the player will decide which one of the six characters moves into the town (and into which house). In even months, the player will decide which construction they add to the town. Both the order and the location chosen for each character and building will affect the game's development, as well as the citizens' lifes.

During the "snooping" phase, the player will be able to check the different existing buildings, to find out more about how the characters have adapted to their new life in Shaketown. Have they found a new job? Met a new friend? Or maybe, even discovered love? Snoop around as much as you want to find out!

When starting a game, the player will be able to decide to either play without any objectives, or to choose one of the objective packs to solve. The first one will allow them to play at their own leisure, while the second one will require them to solve the "puzzle": characters and constructions must be added in a determined order to succeed.

There are six main characters that will move to Shaketown during the year: Dana, Lewis, María, Jacob, Sasha and Barry.

There are six constructions that will be built during the year: The restaurant, the theatre, the train station, the museum, the community garden and the school.

Looks absolutely gorgeous, and I can't get enough of the warm, cozy vibe. I'm also 100% here for the 'stick' around pun in the backstory section

Aw, thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed it, the main reason I got into the gaming industry was to make puns haha :P.

I absolutely adore the art and the effort you put in for this beautiful world building!

The progression being told through "snooping" scenarios truly make your decisions feel impactful to this world.
